Founder + President / Clinical Counsellor

Jack is the founder and president of Humanworks and co-founder of Humanworks Press. He oversees and directs all the organization’s initiatives and manages all aspects of corporate operations. Jack is also the manager of the Early Intervention Program of the BC Principals’ & Vice-Principals’ Association.

Jack has extensive experience working in public and private sector environments, and with senior management members in organizations throughout Canada. He has worked in the education sector for over 25 years, specifically with teachers and school administrators. He personally provides services in vocational rehabilitation case management, organizational coaching, individual counselling, mediation, and group facilitation for Humanworks clients.

In addition to being a business owner, Jack is a registered clinical counsellor and organizational counsellor with over 30 years’ experience. He supports all people he works with to make positive changes in their professional and personal lives.

Jack holds a Master of Education (Counselling Psychology) from the University of Victoria and has worked in the field of health services since the early 1980s. He comes from many generations of health care and education professionals: teachers, administrators, superintendents, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers. His lifework has been to help others, and he has a way of being that connects him with the people he supports with great efficacy.

In his personal life, Jack enjoys spending time in the outdoors on the North Shore of Vancouver; hiking, riding, skiing, and fishing. He and his wife, Monika, have raised their now-adult twins. Jack coached soccer for over 20 years and is involved in several local community volunteer initiatives. He has a passion for cooking and entertaining, bringing food from the ocean, fields, and garden to the plate. Simple living at its finest!
