Christy is a clinical counsellor and rehabilitation consultant for Humanworks. She had 10-plus years’ experience working for a provincial school district prior to pursuing work in the private sector as a counsellor.
Christy earned her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology with a focus on vocational rehabilitation from the University of BC. She has also pursued training in Mindfulness Based Mental Fitness®, positive psychology, cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and critical incident stress management. These practices have enhanced her person-centred approach to improving occupational wellness to inform her clients’ overall quality of life.
Christy values educators and the immense role they play in shaping our children, while understanding the demands of the occupation.
Christy loves spending time with family and friends while hiking, exploring local attractions, and watching sports. On her own, she loves reading, exercising, and the occasional solo hike. Her sense of humour, flexibility, and generosity are a big part of how she practices life.
